I have a 2005 tiburon and its hit 90000 miles, what type of service do I need to get done?

Q:I got it at 85000 miles and did an oil change do I need a tune up or is there something else? This is my only car so I want to take care of it. Thank you

A: I work at a family owned repair facility. The dealer recommends the following service at 90,000 Miles;
Basically inspect the entire vehicle, Replace the air filter, coolant, engine oil, and engine oil filter. Since you are keeping the vehicle have you done your previous maintenance services?read the manual, all your maintenance is listed thereyes do a tune on it and have the timing belt/chain checked for wear as well. the motor is most likely an interference motor meaning if the belt lets go then the valves will bend. have the tranny checked as well, it's filter is usually forgotten to be changed at it's service point. also do a lube on it.Change brake fluid (which involves bleeding brake lines), change fuel filter, air filter, change belts if they're bad, flush and replace coolant round 100k miles, change spark plugs and spark plug wires, rotate tires. All those don't have to be done all at once, but should be done within next 20k miles to keep up good maintenance.Well, you didn't mention any previous car maintenance records for this vehicle. I'll assume that nothing has been done or very basic oil changes. Your should have the booklet in the glove but I can tell you what I would do as a professional mechanic.

It's factory recommended (on most) that every 30,000, ALL fluids should be flushed and changed including all the filters ie... Engine, Transmission, radiator flushed and new anti freeze put in, any in-line fuel filters, brake fluid, grease everything that takes grease etc... A 2005 model car has an OBD ll (2) or On Board Diagnostics, you'll need to hook up the tool to check other engine and electrical sensors to be sure they're working properly. (Advance Auto or Auto Zone with check this for free) If your check engine light is NOT on you should be OK.....BUT I've seen people just pull the light bulb out and sell it without fixing it. Since you just bought it, don't trust that the light works. When you turn the key on.... watch it come on and off again, then you know the bulb is good, if you don't spot the engine light, there probably is an issue. The light should come on when the key is turned on and go out after car starts. Have all 4 wheel brakes checked for wear or damage. You may need new pads or rotors. Have the tires inspected for even wear and safe thread depth. If you get any shake while driving, tire balance is probably needed. If you get shaking while applying the brakes, your rotor probably needs turning or replacing and if you do that always put new brake pads on even if they look new, replace them..... This should lead you in the right direction. Good luck.
