Best places to live with cold weather?

Q:im planning on moving sometime next year and i want to know the best places in the US to live that stay cold most of the year, by cold i dont mean freezing i just mean nice, cool weather, not alot of rain though. it has to be a nice city btw (:

A: Olympia, Washington? In an article it says, cold weather but not too cold, and it is nice weather, not much rain. The only thing is some people who live there say the crime rate is getting higher. But, all of your descriptions lead me to Olympia, Washington. Good luck buddy, I hope you find a good place. Check the link in the sources to see more about Olympia and people reactions who live there.I would say San Francisco and Monterey, CA. The warmest months of the year have daytime temps normally in the upper 60's and the coldest months have temps in the 50's. I've seen some days in Monterey in the middle of summer not even reach 60 degrees. These temperatures are cool compared to most summer temps in the continental U.S.. This link will show you climate information for Monterey and if you look at July of 2007 and 2008 you will say some days only reached like 58 degrees.
http://met.nps.edu/~ldm/renard_wx/No one seemed to notice you said no freezing....all those places listed are way past cold. California is balmy and doesn't freeze...well some of it. I found San Francisco cold. Florida the same and I can speak for very far south Texas. It only freezes occasionally and that wipes out all the tropical vegetation and citrus trees. Same with Florida. If you want mild winters...above freezing...you have to realize that you must go south. With that comes real heat in the summer....You need to do what a lot of snow birds here do...people who spend the winter here and summer up north...you can keep it cool and avoid freezing.Gaylord, Michigan
Montpelier, Vermont
Burlington, Vermont
Boyne Mountain, Michigan
Anchorage, Alaska
Juaneu, Alaska
Yellowknife, Northwest territories, Canada
Whitehose, Yukon, Canada
Iqualit, Canada
Fairbanks, Alaska
Barrow, Alaska
Point Barrow, Alaska
